About the EXIF Editor Tool

This tool shows the metadata hidden inside a photo and lets you change or remove it. Drop in an image and it lists every tag, grouped by type, from the camera and lens to the date and GPS location.

For JPEG files you can edit the values and download the photo with your changes, or save a copy with all the metadata stripped out.

How to use the EXIF Editor

Removing location and other private data

Photos often carry the exact spot they were taken, along with the camera, the date and sometimes a serial number. If you are about to post or share a photo, Download without metadata gives you a clean copy with all of that stripped out. To remove a single field instead, edit it on a JPEG and clear the value before downloading.

Editing is for JPEG files

JPEG is the format that can be safely written back to, so editing and stripping metadata apply to JPEG files. PNG, TIFF, HEIC, WebP and the rest are shown so you can read what they contain, but not edited.
