Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
marvins.tools is built to respect your privacy by design. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no cookies for advertising. Every tool runs entirely in your browser, and the data you work with never leaves your device. This policy explains what that means in practice and sets out your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible (data controller)
The controller responsible for this website within the meaning of the GDPR is:
Marvin Wendt
Website: marvinjwendt.com
You can reach the controller using the contact details published on the website linked above.
2. The short version
- We do not track you, and we do not sell or share your data.
- We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
- You do not need an account, and we do not ask for personal details.
- Every tool processes your input locally in your browser. Files, text and other content you load into a tool are not uploaded to us.
- We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count visits, which do not identify you.
3. Data processed in your browser only
The tools on this site are client-side applications. When you use a tool (for example a converter, calculator or editor), your input is processed on your own device by code running in your browser. This content is never transmitted to our servers.
Some tools let you save your work. When you do, that data is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device so it is still there when you return. It stays on your device, is not sent to us, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site or using the in-app controls where available. Because this data lives on your device, it is your responsibility to keep it secure.
4. Server logs and hosting
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. as our processor. When you visit the site, your browser necessarily sends technical information that the hosting infrastructure processes to deliver the pages to you, such as your IP address, the requested URL, the date and time of the request, and your browser and operating system details.
This processing is necessary to operate the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operational purposes and are not used to build a profile of you.
5. Analytics
To understand roughly how many people use the site and which tools are popular, we use Vercel Web Analytics. These analytics are privacy-friendly and aggregate:
- They do not use cookies and do not store anything on your device.
- They do not collect personally identifiable information and do not track you across websites.
- They produce anonymous, aggregated statistics (such as page views and referrers) that cannot be used to identify you.
The legal basis for this anonymous measurement is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Because no cookies or comparable device storage are used for analytics, no consent banner is required.
6. Cookies
We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking or analytics, and we do not use them to identify you or follow you across websites.
7. No sharing or selling of data
We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. The only third party involved is our hosting and analytics provider (Vercel), acting as our processor under a data processing agreement, strictly to run the website.
8. International transfers
Our hosting and analytics provider may process technical data on servers located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, so your data continues to enjoy an adequate level of protection.
9. Your rights under the GDPR
If any information relating to you is processed as personal data, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: to know whether and how your data is processed (Art. 15).
- Right to rectification: to have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16).
- Right to erasure: to have your data deleted (Art. 17).
- Right to restriction: to limit how your data is processed (Art. 18).
- Right to data portability: to receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20).
- Right to object: to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21).
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, to withdraw it at any time.
Because we do not run user accounts and do not store your content, in most cases we hold no personal data about you that would let us identify you, so there may be nothing for us to retrieve or delete on our side. Data saved by a tool lives in your own browser and is fully under your control.
10. Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
11. Data security
The site is served exclusively over encrypted HTTPS connections. Because tool data stays in your browser and we do not operate a user database, the amount of data that could be exposed on our side is minimal by design.
12. Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. As the tools do not require any personal information, this is not a concern in normal use.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the site or to legal requirements. The current version always applies, and the date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
14. Contact
For any questions about this policy or your data, please use the contact details on marvinjwendt.com.
